The extended leadership network engages city stakeholders on a global basis. WorldSmartCity.org is a new global platform: helping city leaders achieve smart city goals. It hosts and organizes a range of in-depth discussions that add value for these leaders and provide much more than a high-level networking platform. This also helps leaders to learn from each other. It focuses on the top “pain points” that hold back smart city development in four areas: water, energy, mobility, and cybersecurity as well as privacy. [WorldSmartCity.org](https://www.worldsmartcity.org/) organizes monthly live discussions for and with city leaders. Because the discussion enables leaders to learn from each other innovative methods. Many times leaders can also learn from the problem that other countries faces and take advance action. Also, leaders can collaborate in areas where they face common problem. Even its community members helped shape the final program of the first World Smart City Forum, which took place on 13 July in Singapore. This special event was also co-located with the World Cities Summit and Singapore International Water Week. ### **Why Should You Bother With This Initiative?** You should bother with this initiative because the key organizations behind them believe that significant efficiency improvements will come when city systems are both virtually and physically connected.  This is however easier said than done because most such systems have been designed as well as installed by different suppliers.
