Amp-hours (Ah) is a measurement of the current flow (in amperes) over a period of one hour; used to assess battery capacity. The ampere hour meter is a device that **continuously records current.** The result of current (in amps) and time is the indication (in hours). ### **How Does a Ampere Hour Meter Works?** The quantity of electric charge utilized is calculated using [an ampere](https://energytheory.com/what-is-an-ampere/) (Amp) hour meter, a solid-state measuring device with a similar principle to a water meter. It does this **by multiplying the flow rate of electrons by the duration of time** electrons pass over the wire. Now, a lot depends on the different **types and styles** of this equipment, which might change from time to time, as well as the best pricing. The majority of the gadgets are built around a design resembling an ammeter, an electronic device used to measure current.
