# GE Renewable Energy Wind Power Supply Continues To Lithuania

[Inikti](https://inikti.com/) chose GE Renewable Energy to supply wind Inikti turbines to Otada wind farms. With this project, total onshore capacity installed by GE in Lithuania reaches around **500 MW by the end of 2023**. With this GE Renewable Energy wind power supply continues to Lithuania.

Wind farms situated in Sakiai city in the southwest of Lithuania will receive 4 onshore wind turbines from [GE Renewable Energy](https://www.ge.com/renewableenergy/home). The project will have an overall capacity of 18 MW. The developers and investors of the project will be operating **4 GE turbines at 5.5 MW derated at 4.5 MW** and a rotor diameter of about 158 m. All turbines are to be installed on a 151m tower and the installation will take place in the 3rd quarter of 2023.

Chief Commercial Officer of Onshore Wind International at GE, [Gilan Sabatier](https://www.linkedin.com/in/gilansabatier/) said, _â€œWe’re delighted to start a partnership with Inikti, and we are thrilled they’ve selected our technology. We are also very proud to keep contributing to the energy transition in Lithuania, a country which is one of the most attractive countries in Europe in terms of wind energy potential.â€_ 

To this CEO of Inikti, [Aivaras Stumbras](https://www.linkedin.com/in/aivaras-stumbras-48ab8313b/?originalSubdomain=lt) added, _â€œWe are thrilled to have chosen the partner with one of the most modern and high-performance wind turbines in the market. We hope that the beginning of our cooperation with GE will open up more opportunities for both companies, not only as a customer, but also as an installation and service provider.â€_

As per [Lithuanian Wind Power Association](https://lvea.lt/en/) (LVEA), the installed capacity in the country is about **668 MW of wind power in 2021 and now is heading towards the 800 MW mark**. Lithuania has an ambitious target to reach total installed capacity of renewable energy resources to 7 GW by 2030\. A dynamic accelerator comprised of renewable energy, [power](https://energytheory.com/is-solar-power-ac-or-dc/), energy, and digital financial services businesses; [GE Vernova](https://www.gevernova.com/) focuses on supporting the transformation of its customers during global energy transitions.

Power ratings of turbines by GE in the most powerful onshore wind platforms are 4.8, and 6.1 MW with 164 meters and 158 meters rotor diameters with varying sub-heights. GE has received around 9 GW of orders since it introduced 4.8-6.1 onshore wind fleet in 2017\. It also has accumulated more than **4 million operating hours globally**.

GE renewable energy is an integral part of the GE Vernova portfolio of energy business and provides end-to-end energy solutions. Their products and services include utility scale solar and grid solutions, onshore & offshore [wind](https://energytheory.com/basic-principle-of-wind-energy-conversion/) blades, hydro storage, digital services and hybrid renewable. On a global scale, the company has **installed more than 400 GW of clean energy** facilities and has equipped more than 90% of worldwide utilities with its grid solutions.

Inikti has been operating for 10 years and has assembled, dismantled, and ensured maintenance of around 200 wind turbines across Europe. Their total capacity of projects is more than 850 MW, and they expect it to reach 2 GW by 2030\. GE Renewable Energy wind power supply continues to Lithuania, and this could speed up the ultimate of the country to achieve more and more carbon-neutral energy.
