Millions of tons of water are wasted every day, and thus, many people don’t have access to fresh drinking water. Being the most populated country in the world, India often faces water shortage. But this IoT-Powered Water Management by DigitalPaani, a Gurgaon-based startup is aiming to solve this issue. The platform not only optimizes plant operations, but it also reduces downtime. The system is cost-effective, and they have already achieved a 30% surge in treatment facilities.
Gurgaon, India-based water management startup, DigitalPaani was founded in 2020. The father-daughter team of Rajesh Jain and Mansi Jain started this company with the goal of efficient water management. They wanted a consistent supply of fresh water for everyone. The duo teamed up with Delhi IIT experts and crafted an IoT-enabled platform for optimizing plant operations. The platform also improves wastewater treatment, supports reusing water, and minimizes downtime.
DigitalPaani improves water management with IoT platform platform performed beyond expectations and achieved a surge of around 30% in treatment capacity. This further leads to about 66% of cost-savings at commercial sites. The IoT platform is designed to continuously monitor infrastructural performances and identify issues. It then provides possible remedial guidance too. It functions like a doctor for water systems, evaluating their condition and providing the necessary recommendations for optimal treatment. This includes adjusting equipment settings, making process modifications, and providing clear operator instructions to ensure a highly effective remedy.
Up until now, this startup has already signed up with some esteemed clients like Delhi Jal Board, Leela Hotels, Tata Power, and Britannia. Moreover, the startup had won Niti Aayog award too. They have planned to expedite their growth in key urban centers including the National Capital Region of Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune.
About DigitalPaani
“We are on a mission to change this and build the future of water operations,” said the founders of the organization.
According to them, they are driven by their mission of protecting natural resources from contamination. Transitioning towards clean cities with abundant water. They achieve this by improving wastewater treatment techniques and assisting buildings and factories in reaching water neutrality.
How it Works
IoT-powered solution for enhancing ETP and STP management and achieving water neutrality through real-time water accounting. It includes the following features:
1. Understanding the requirement
They are successfully generating the most effective and efficient operational parameters. This became possible through the utilization of plant design and the integration of sensor data, electrical panel information, and micro surveys.
2. Accurate communication
The platform sends WhatsApp notifications, and makes automatic calls based on issue severity. It also offers a real-time dashboard and reports for different levels in the organization. The platform controls all 4 operational inputs based on plant design, process, and operational needs.
3. Machinery
They automate important equipment such as pumps, blowers, and UF systems to reduce the work done by onsite teams. To quickly resolve the issues, they have integrated this automation into their daily operations. This also enables a strong feedback system loop.
4. Upgrading and Maintaining
The IoT-Powered Water Management by DigitalPaani application easily tracks the health of key equipment. This helps in preventing recurring issues through better maintenance. The platform also suggests critical changes that can possibly result in high ROI. This is decided based on the plant’s operational data and design.
