The off-road inspired concept of limited-edition electric city car, My Ami Buggy, was unveiled in December 2021. The car is based on Citroën’s electric car, Ami, which is 2.41 meters in length (7.9 feet). Citroën received a highly enthusiastic response and subsequently transformed the concept into reality during the previous summer. A Khaki-colored body and exclusive gold wheels characterize the limited-release My Ami Buggy model launched in France by the automaker.
The electric limited edition city car was launched in May with an initial cost of approximately $13K (£10,495). The first batch of 50 units was sold out in less than 18 minutes as buyers eagerly sought to acquire the sleek and eco-friendly electric vehicle. The great feedback on the first batch led to its release in 10 countries: Belgium France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and UK.
Equipped with an 8 hp motor and a 5.4 kWh battery, the compact EV can travel a distance of up to 46 miles while reaching a maximum speed of 28 mph. The global version of the car has the same khaki color as the French model. There is black protective trim and gold rims that add a nice touch to the dark body colors, giving it an outdoor look.

Citroën announced that their online sales, which started on June 20, proved to be a resounding success with all 800 units being sold in an impressive span of just 10 hours. In less than nine minutes, all 65 car models available for Belgium were sold out. In the span of one hour, France secured an impressive 300 sales of the My Ami Buggies. Meanwhile, Spain broke records with their fastest order completion time of just over one minute.
Citroën reported that more than 20,000 visitors accessed the sales website following its launch. The new My Ami Buggy is set to hit the roads starting from September, when the deliveries will commence.
