UAE is among the nations which is achieving its renewable energy goals and aims to improve more. Since transport is the main field from where CO2 emissions need to be controlled more, the nation’s aim is to decarbonize it at large. To further assist the UAE in achieving its targets, BluSmart launches E-taxi services in Dubai offering reliable rides, services, and rates.

BluSmart is all set to expand its presence across the United Arab Emirates and plans to enter Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi within the next 12 months. The pioneering E-taxi service commenced operations in Dubai in June 2024 and currently, their fleet has 30 Audi e-tron luxury electric vehicles. This new strategy aims to capitalize UAE’s growing focus on green transport and sustainability.

BluSmart’s taxi offers services like non-fluctuating fares and reliable services and does not allow driver cancellations. Moreover, the fares remain the same regardless of peak traffic or weather conditions.

Company’s co-founder Anmol Singh Jaggi revealed that an additional order of 70 EVs has been placed, and their delivery is expected by October 2024. BluSmart aims to have 150 EVs and 225 drivers by the end of 2024. Also, by 2025 they project a fleet of 1200 EVs along with a team of 1800 drivers. Moreover, they want to secure a 10-15% market share as the UAE’s taxi fleet expands.

The UAE’s Commitment to Renewable Energy

The United Arab Emirates is dedicatedly focused on renewable energy which is transforming its transport sector. It is proving beneficial for the expansion of companies like BluSmart. Through the Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative, the government plans to invest Dh600 billion in renewable and clean energy sources. This further shows potential growth in green transport.

Started in December 2019 in Delhi, India, BluSmart is backed by BP’s venture arm and Zurich-based sustainable investment firm. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company’s operations were halted for 18 months. However, ever since then, they have expanded to Bengaluru and far more.
