Up until last year, 3 billion Yuan or 433 million dollars was spent by Xiaomi on getting 2,300 people for the research and development team of the automotive department. Not only that but there’s also a manufacturing facility built by the company in Beijing. It doesn’t stop here as more such facilities are being planned for upcoming models. The facility in Beijing is expected to produce no less than 3 lakh models a year.
