They all have a modern design twist and feature innovative technology, including adaptive electric assistance, anti-theft systems, and real-time navigation. The company will debut these captivating designs at the 2023 PRO-DAYS exhibition in Paris.
Peugeot, the French automaker, has been involved in the electric bicycle industry for a long period. With a history spanning over a century, PEUGEOT Cycles division has a rich heritage in bicycle manufacturing. And the new e-bike lineup from Peugeot is definitely eye-catching and impressive.
The three new e-bike models include a city commuter e-bike, a long-tail cargo e-bike, and a front-loader cargo e-bike. Although all three options have a modern design twist, the commuter bike stands out as the most visually striking choice.
The company said that the new e-bike models will bring many new features to Peugeot’s lineup, “At the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024, PEUGEOT Cycles will expand its range of electrically assisted bicycles with several new innovative models benefiting from the best-connected technologies. These, through a new dedicated smartphone application, offer users when it is launched, among other things, adaptive electric assistance, an anti-theft system, an alarm, bike geolocation, real-time navigation, weather forecasts at destination, route statistics, etc.â€

The New Peugeot City E-Bike: The Digital E-Bike
The bike has a large downtube that divides a separated and reduced top tube. The rear wheel of the Peugeot e-bike is connected to the motor using a belt drive system instead of a chain drive commonly used in other Peugeot e-bikes. The bike has fenders that fit closely, handlebars that sweep back, and hydraulic disc brakes.
The New Digital E-Longtail Cargo Bike
Company describes it as, “a bike whose elongated rear can comfortably accommodate up to two children or a load, particularly suitable for family use.â€
The bicycle presents a front-end design with a classic touch, while the elongated rear end provides ample space to attach a long rack and two cushioned bench seats. The child carrier is specially designed to securely hold not only children but also cargo on the spacious rear rack. Additionally, it features a convenient wheel skirt that effectively prevents small, dangling feet from coming into contact with the rear wheel.
The running board on the side of the rear wheel and the protrusions on the upper rack deck will allow the e-bike to be parked vertically on its tail, similar to the Tern cargo e-bikes. By doing so, the bicycle would occupy significantly less room in either a garage or an apartment.
The New Digital E-Front Load Cargo E-Bike
The 3rd e-bike is described by the company as, “a bike with an extended front wheelbase to accommodate a crate for transporting up to three children or heavy loads, suitable for family or professional use.â€
Digital e-Front Load cargo e-bikes are popular in Europe. They are used for transporting multiple children around town or carrying heavy cargo, like groceries.
Though Peugeot unveils impressive new electric bike lineup but has not yet revealed the prices for them. However, the company will be showcasing the new designs at the PRO-DAYS show, taking place from July 2 to 4, 2023, at Paris Exhibition, Porte de Versailles.
