This Swedish startup is working on tiny EVs for urban environments. The Luvly O, a compact and stylish electric car, will be the first product of the startup and is expected to hit the market in late 2023. Luvly O will cost around $10,700 and comes with a range of 60 miles. But what makes their car exceptional is their plan to patent flat-pack car parts. These low cost flat pack cars will be assembled in microfactories near customer’s place to cut down pollution and extra charges.

The Swedish-based startup Luvly is looking forward to selling tiny urban Electric Vehicles. It is said to be less buzzy than a Tesla Model Y or a Ford F-150. But what is it that their EV is different from others? What makes the Luvly O different from other little EVs?

The concept is to disassemble the various components of each car, similar to products from IKEA such as the Malm drawers, Kallax storage shelving, and Billy bookcase, and then reassemble them in microfactories located near customers, reducing both transportation costs and pollution. It will aid the production of low cost flat pack cars.

Luvly was established back in 2015 and its debut model is the O. Luvly has announced that its launch is scheduled for the latter half of 2023. The cute and compact electric vehicle is designed to tackle major issues by offering greater affordability, efficiency, and safety compared to other electric cars. The on-road cost of this affordable small EV would be approximately around $10,700 (€10,000).

H×¥kan Lutz, CEO and founder of Luvly, said, “Luvly was founded on the belief that the negative aspects of cars – environmental harm, cost, danger to pedestrians and other road-users, space inefficiency – can be mitigated by combining modern technological solutions with futuristic design.”

With a top speed of around 56 mph, this IKEA of electric vehicles is capable of handling highway commutes with ease. It’s best to keep your journeys brief when driving the Luvly O as it only has a range of about 60 miles.

One of the benefits of this product is that its batteries can be easily removed and swapped with fully charged ones, allowing owners to avoid waiting at charging stations. Being roughly the size of a smart car, Luvly O is expected to offer fast and smooth rides.
